2016 Favourites!

So, to say I struggled choosing my overall favourites for the year is an under statement! I kept changing my mind every time I tried to take pictures and couldn’t decide for definite whether I even liked the product. But I got there in the end, and after all the deliberation 90% of the original crap I was going to put in didn’t make it, so hopefully this post won’t be another 4 page essay!

(I don’t know why this image is significantly smaller than the others, it won’t go any bigger)
2016 was the year I got really experimental with my makeup and ventured away from ‘scouse’ brows, I tried a lot of new brands and make up techniques, so here’s some of my faves!
Starting with face makeup, this isn’t usually something I venture with a lot. I find a powder, thats all I use until I’m forced into trying a new one! But thanks to the blogging world a lot of recommendations were thrown my way and some of them haven’t disappointed!
Anastasia Beverly Hills glow kit – Sweets – this is just as good as everybody raves it is!! So glowy
Barry M colour correcting primer – Green – This is my favourite ever drugstore primer, it actually does what it says and reduces my redness a lot
Seventeen stay time concealer – fair – After seeing everyone and their mums rave about this concealer, I gave in. I’m so glad I did!
Sleek contour kit – Light – all time favourite contour kit
Seventeen miracle matte pressed powder – Natural Fair – I really like this powder, it doesn’t come out cakey and it keeps my oily skin matte!
MAC transparent finishing powder – LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE

Next up, is eyes! When it comes to eyeshadow, I like to stick to a golden brown smokey eye but I wanted to learn new make up skills so along came experimenting with colour!

Too Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette – I’ve had this palette for way over a year now, but I absolutely love it. It is definitely a staple in my make up collection!
Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye palette – The range of eyeshadows with different undertones in this palette is insane, they are also very blendable and are so pigmented!
Anastasia Beverly Hills – Modern Renaissance eyeshadow palette – oh my god I think these are the most pigmented, beautiful & blendable eyeshadows I’ve ever used, I would 110% recommend this palette to anyone!
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara – This is a life changer, just try it. Thank me later!

It’s been the year of liquid lipsticks and I can safely say I love them (even though I am awful at applying them) and one particular brand has not disappointed! I’ve also loved my YSL lipstick this year!
YSL Rouge Volupte Shine – velvet blouse (47) – this is such a creamy & moisturising lipstick. It is so pigmented and lasts all day!! (looks amazing with MAC Soar lipliner)

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Matte Lipstick – Don’t Pink Of It – as you can see, this is my most used out of the three, It is just the perfect nude for my skin tone – it is a lot less pink than it looks

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Matte Lipstick – Peach Club – such a lovely bright coral colour, compliments a dark smokey eye so well

Now I know all three lipsticks are by Bourjous but I can’t rave about them enough. The formula is amazing and they last literally all day!! I would 110% recommend them to anyone!

Finally random bits! I don’t have much random bits to talk about, but the ones I have are good ones!
Ikea Sinnlig Candle – Sweet Berries – this is the best thing I have ever smelt in the whole entire world. It’s one of those candles you can smell before you even light it, I have a draw full of them.
Victoria Secret Fragrance Mist – Love Spell – I keep this with me in my bag everywhere I go, it smells amazing and I always get complimented on it!
Lush Bubble Bar – Candy Mountain – Bubble baths are my favourite things in the world, especially when they smell like Candy Mountain!
So that’s my 2016 favourites, what have your favourites been this year?
Let me know in the comments & recommend me your favourite, I love trying new products!
Thanks for reading, Hope you enjoyed!
Love, Melissa X
